Granny Square 04

Orange Slices Flower on page 102 of Leonie Morgan’s “100 Colourful Granny Squares to Crochet” is my choice for week 4. This book has been surprising in that, although I often bring home crochet books from the local library,  I don’t often have find so many of the projects as interesting and enjoyable as this book.

I have a shelf in my Goodreads app that I named wish list for my children because, if they ask what I want for a present, I can never remember what I wanted. I have added this book to my list.

I have now blocked weeks 3 and 4. I made a new, more portable blocking board from three layers of corrugated cardboard, recycled from the packaging of a recent purchase. I covered it in a double layer of some old discoloured fleece that was also destined to be recycled. It was sewn together using the zipper foot on my sewing machine and finished off by drawing a grid using a biro and a quilting ruler. I am pleased with the result.

Who am I? I am different things to different people. I am a poet, a visual artist, a sculptor of found objects, and a writer. I am a bookkeeper, an office manager, an administrator and software support consultant, even a short-order cook and barista. I am a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, a cousin and a friend. I am a traveller, a technophile, a philosopher and a student of all things.
