Welcome beautiful grandchild, born 2nd July 2009 at 1.53 am, 7lb, 11oz.

You are the first of a new generation for this family. A 21st-century child, you have had your own blog since long before you were born. I had news of your birth (sixteen thousand kilometres away) within thirty minutes, your photograph was on twitter within hours and I have downloaded and printed it before the end of the first day. You are the new wallpaper on my computer desktop (replacing your pregnant mother) and I look forward to meeting you and keeping up with your progress on skype.

This ends a totally awesome day, the day I became a Grandparent.
